I am often asked where One 12 comes from. It is from Genesis 1:12 which says “And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” As a landscaper, I thought this verse was fitting. We do yard maintenance which includes mowing, weed control, edging, blowing off all paved surfaces, trimming, mulching, aerating and fertilizing the lawn, removing leaves in the fall and at times, have cleaned roofs and gutters. We also do landscape design and plant installs.
One 12 Landscaping’s number one goal is to work hard to please the costumer while mentoring and making a positive difference in the lives of our employees. Even as a business, I believe if we do not engage in the lives of those we have contact with in such a way that we change their lives, then we have failed, regardless of how successful we are on paper. There is a quote that states “How do you change the world? One life at a time”. This belief and quote are the meanings behind One 12 Landscaping’s mission statement,
Changing the world, one yard at a time.
We exist for the purpose of using our trade and resources to make a difference in the lives around us while working passionately to turn your yard into your favorite place.
I, Jeremy Kelly, graduated from Clemson in 2004 in Landscape Architecture but went into youth ministry full time while doing design work on the side. After 5 years of full time youth ministry, I decided to get back to the roots of my training. After twenty plus years of running his business, Mark’s Mowing and More, my uncle decided it was time to slow down. Knowing my experience and love of the outdoors, he asked me to take over his clientele in January of 2012. My wife and I could not pass up the opportunity. I continue to enjoy the challenges and the constant learning process that this line of work offers. Most of all, I have appreciated getting to know each and every client along the way and look forward to meeting many more. “Most work because they have to; few work because they get to”. I am thankful to be the latter. It is hard to see it as work when it is something you love.
